The doctrines of which you can say: ‘These doctrines do not conduce to good, to turning away, to fading, to calming, to higher knowledge, or to Nirvana’, you can be certain that they are not Dhamma, not training, not the word of the Teacher. But the doctrines of which you can say: ‘These doctrines do conduce to good, to turning away, to fading, to calming, to higher knowledge, or to Nirvana’, you can be certain that they are Dhamma, they are training, they are the word of the Teacher.
