174. One conceives hatred at the thought: ‘So-and-so has done me harm’, ‘He is doing me harm’, ‘He is going to do me harm’. One conceives hatred at the thought: ‘So-and-so has done harm to one dear and precious to me’, ‘He is doing harm to one dear and precious to me’, ‘He is going to do harm to one dear and precious to me.’ One conceives hatred at the thought: ‘So-and-so has done good to one disliked and despised by me’, ‘He is doing good to one disliked and despised by me’, ‘He is going to do good to one disliked and despised by me.’ In this way, one is annoyed without good reason.
