114. Jīvaka said: “I have heard this said that it is sublime to abide in love and the Lord is proof of this because I can see that he abides in love.”
The Lord replied: “Any lust, hatred or delusion which could give rise to ill-will has been abandoned by the Tathāgata, cut off at the root, made like a palm tree stump, finished so that it cannot grow again in the future. If that is what you are referring to Jīvaka, then I agree with you.”
